On Tuesday, August 30th, 2016, at approximately 2 a.m., a robbery occurred in the area of Springmount Drive and Oldfield Drive, in Kitchener. The 16 year old victim was approached by an unknown male who had initially inquired about directions. The suspect then pointed a hand gun at the victim and demanded the victim give him his backpack, cell phone, lap top and bicycle.
The suspect fled the scene riding the victim’s bicycle. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The suspect was later located by police and subsequently arrested. A 26 year old Kitchener male faces numerous charges and was held for a bail hearing. The alleged handgun was not recovered.
