(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – As a result of yesterday’s fatal collision at the intersection of Line 40 and Road 110 involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a charge against the driver of the pickup truck.
The pickup truck had crossed Line 40 while travelling south bound on Road 110, directly in the path of an east bound motorcyclist on Line 40. Line 40 is a through highway while traffic on Road 110 is controlled by stop signs.
Arnold VANMOORSEL (77) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with “careless driving”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Provincial Offences Court on July14, 2015 to answer to this charge.

MOTORCYCLIST DECEASED AS RESULT OF CRASH
(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and member of the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) remain at the scene of a fatal crash that occurred this morning.
Shortly before 11 a.m., Perth County OPP officers, members of the Township of Perth East Fire Department, as well as Perth County EMS personnel attended the two vehicle collision at the intersection of Line 40 and Road 110 (north east of Stratford).
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the collision occurred in the intersection and involved a 2014 Honda R5A motorcycle that was travelling east bound on Line 40 and a 2011 GMC Sierra pickup truck that was travelling south bound on Road 110. Line 40 is a through highway while traffic on Road 110 is controlled by stop signs.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with undetermined injuries.
The deceased has been identified as 16 year old Jeremy WICKENHEISER from the Township of Perth East.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation, and it is expected that the intersection will remain closed to traffic until 4 p.m.
