(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday March 18, 2011 shortly before 6 p.m. an OPP officer on patrol while operating radar, locked in a cars speed at nearly double the posted speed limit.
The officer was travelling east bound on Perth Line 55 west of Monkton in an 80 km/h speed zone when a fast moving oncoming car was locked in at 159 km/h. The 19 year old male driver from North Huron was charged with “racing a motor vehicle†and was given a summons to appear in court to answer to this charge. His drivers licence was suspended for 7 days in addition his vehicle was also impounded for a week.
