(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Saturday June 02, 2012, shortly after 9 a.m. a Perth County OPP officer on patrol along Perth Line 20 near Downie Central Public School (West of St.Pauls), observed a beige Honda Odyssey Mini Van travelling at an extremely high rate of speed.

The officer activated the police radar and locked the vehicle’s speed in at 155 km/h which is 75 km/h above the 80 km/h speed limit. The motorist, a 19 year old male from Waterloo, was issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicle”. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on July 24, 2012 to answer to this charge. The male’s driver’s licence was seized (suspended for 7 days), and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation. The van was towed and has been impounded for 7 days.
