(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Sunday February 12, 2017 shortly before 11:00 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of an attempted theft of a transport truck and trailer from a business on Tremaine Avenue South in the Municipality of North Perth. The theft had been interrupted by a witness who had observed suspicious activity around the truck. The suspects fled the area southbound on Tremaine Ave South in a newer silver Ford F150 4-door pick-up truck.
Suspects then stole a white 2010 Freightliner transport truck and a white refrigerated trailer that was loaded with eggs from the same area and during the same approximate time frame. Total value of this theft is estimated to be $150,000.
On Monday February 13, 2017, shortly before 4:00 a.m., Perth County OPP was notified of two transport trucks that had been located in a rural area on Perth Line 80 in the Municipality of North Perth. Through investigation it was determined that these transport trucks were stolen from Waterloo Region.
The investigation into these three incidents is ongoing.
