15 Year Old Repeat Offender Chased Down By Hero Homeowner

(LAKESHORE, ON) – On July 31, 2016 at 11:45 p.m. Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were dispatched to a residence on Branton Crescent in Lakeshore. A homeowner reported that he had found a youth who had broken into his garage and after a short foot chase had him in custody on a neighbouring property.

During a short tussle, the youth tried to deploy bear spray at the homeowner.

Police attended within minutes and placed the 15 year old youth and an adult female under arrest.

The investigation revealed that the two accused were involved in the following additional incidents earlier that day:

-8:15 a.m. – A Chevrolet truck was stolen from the City of Windsor.

-4:00 p.m. – A theft of $102.00 of fuel from an Esso station in Lakeshore.

-10:30 p.m. – A break and enter and theft of a mountain bicycle in the Town of Lasalle which concluded with the capture of the youth at the Branton Crescent residence in Lakeshore.

A fifteen year old Lakeshore male has been charged with the following criminal offences:

-Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2

-Fail to Comply with Sentence Order x 4

-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

-Break and Enter a Place with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence

-Break and Enter a Place and Commit an Indictable Offence

-Theft

-Trespass at Night

-Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

-Assault with a Weapon

-Possession of a Controlled Substance Under 30 grams

Vanessa BERGOINE, age 29 of Windsor, has been charged as follows:

-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

-Break and Enter Dwelling House –Commit Indictable Offence
