15 Year Old Caught Drinking and Breaking Curfew

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Saturday August 11, 2012 at 4 a.m. Perth County OPP officers in Listowel observed a male youth who appeared to be under the age of 16 years walking in the area of Elizabeth St. East and Wallace Ave. North. The male had a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and was found to be 15 years of age. He was apprehended for a curfew violation as set out in the Child and Family Services Act of Ontario.

The parents of the male were contacted at their residence in Palmerston. The youth’s father attended at the North Perth OPP Detachment and picked up his son.

Parents are reminded that officers will continue to enforce this legislation. If you allow your children to wander the streets between midnight and 6 a.m., don’t be surprised to get a call from the police to pick up your child from the police station. “Parents, you are responsible”.
