15 Year Old Airlifted To London – Snowmobile Operator Hits Barbed Wire

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday March 05, 2013 at 6:40 p.m., Perth County OPP officers in Listowel were dispatched to a snow machine crash in a farmer’s field east of Listowel.

Investigation revealed that a farm worker had spotted a snowmobile at the rear of the farm, 300 meters south of Perth Line 86. The worker immediately proceeded to where the machine was located and found a female snowmobile operator in the snow approximately 60 meters from the machine. The operator appeared to have sustained injuries by driving through a barbed wire fence. The worker was able to safely carry the injured operator back to a farm outbuilding where they were met by a Perth County Ambulance.

The injured operator was transported to the Listowel Memorial Hospital where she was treated and stabilized for transport by Air Ambulance to London Health Sciences Children’s Hospital. The 15 year old female, a Municipality of North Perth resident sustained major injuries but is now listed in stable condition.
