144 in an 80 Results In Racing Charge

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Sunday June 03, 2012 before the noon hour, a Perth County OPP officer observed a fast moving northbound car on Perth Road 180 west of Brodhagen.

The officer activated the police radar and locked the speed of the car at 144 km/h, which is 64 km/h above the 80 km/h speed limit. The 24 year old male driver of the car, a Huron East resident was also issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicle”. He is to appear in Stratford Court on July 10, 2012 to answer to this charge. His driver’s licence was seized and suspended for 7 days. The Chrysler Intrepid he was driving was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days.
