(CHESLEY, ON) – On December 2, 2014, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, the OPP Emergency Response Team, and the South Bruce OPP executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on 4th Street, South West in Chesley.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, an indoor marihuana grow operation was revealed. Police seized cannabis marihuana plants, processed cannabis marihuana, and cannabis resin. The combined estimated value of the seized controlled substances was $141,262.00. Police also seized offence related property that consisted of marihuana production equipment with an estimated value of $450.00.
Jason SELL (32 years) of Arran-Edlerslie Township, was arrested and charged with production of cannabis marihuana, possession of cannabis marihuana for the purposes of trafficking, production of cannabis resin, possession of cannabis resin, 4 counts of failing to comply with conditions of a probation order, and 2 counts of failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance. He was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing.
