14 Year Old Sexual Assaulted – Police Fear More Victims – Have You Been Sexually Assaulted By This Man?

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a historical Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– the incidents occurred between 2010 and 2011, mainly in the Thorncliffe Park area

– additional incidents occurred throughout the Toronto area

It is further alleged that:

– a 14-year-old girl was extorted into a dating relationship with a 36-year-old man

– the man used the girl’s cultural restrictions as a means to coerce her into the relationship

– the man is employed as a musical performer in the Afghan community, which is where he met the girl

– over a period of time, the man sexually assaulted the girl

On Friday, March 20, 2015, Abdul Basir Samir, 41, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Extortion

2) Sexual Assault

3) Invitation to Sexual Touching

4) Permit Person Under 16 Years of Age on Premise for a Sexual Purpose

5) Sexual Interference with a Person under 16 years of age

6) Publish Defamatory Libel

He appeared in court at Old City Hall, on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10 a.m.

He still works within the community as a musical performer.

Police believe there may be other victims.
