On Friday, December 19, 2014, at approximately 5:40 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Finch Avenue East at Neilson Road.
It is reported that:
− a 14-year-old girl was attempting to cross Neilson Road, from the east side to the west side, in the area of the south side of the intersection
− a 27-year-old man was driving a TTC bus northbound on Neilson Road and was attempting to make a right turn to eastbound Finch Avenue East
− the bus struck the girl
– the girl suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene
– the bus failed to remain at the scene of the collision
