Young Person Arrested for Carrying a Concealed Weapon
On Monday September 23rd, 2013 at approximately 5:00pm Police were advised that a young person was observed leaving his residence with a handgun concealed in his waistband. The 14 year old boy had expressed to the witness his desire to live a gang lifestyle.
Police responded immediately to the area in an attempt to locate the boy and the young female whom he was in the company of. An astute parking enforcement officer observed the young male and female and was able to immediately alert responding officers.
Police located and safely arrested the male, who had been hiding, in the 1000 block of 1st Avenue East. The 14 year old was in possession of an imitation handgun, which was hidden in his waistband. Investigation revealed that the weapon was a BB gun.
The 14 year old Owen Sound male was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Breach of Probation. The young person was held in custody pending a bail hearing today.
