(HURON COUNTY, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were highly visible on Huron County’s roads during the OPP Easter Weekend Seatbelt Campaign that took place between April 14 and April 17, 2017.
Huron County OPP officers charged a total of 9 drivers with seatbelt related offences during the campaign. Should a conviction be registered these drivers will incur a minimum fine of $240 and two demerit points.
Huron County OPP charged another 100 drivers with Speeding, 17 with other various Highway Traffic Act offences, 10 – Liquor Licence Act charges, 2 – Distracted Driving offences and 3 drivers received Warn Range Suspensions.
Huron County OPP also investigated a total of 9 motor vehicle collisions during the campaign, one of which a driver sustained minor injuries.
