(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Saturday December 13, 2014, shortly before 9 p.m., an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol along Perth Line 33 south east of Stratford when an approaching motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officer activated the police radar and locked the vehicle in at a speed of 132 km/h. This is 52 km/h above the posted 80 km/h zone. The Honda Civic was pulled over by the officer, and the seventeen year old female driver, a resident of Mitchell was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicleâ€Â. She is to appear at Stratford Court on January 27, 2015, to answer to this charge. Her driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and her car was towed from the scene and has been impounded for a week.
