128 In a 70 – Street Racer Could Face 6 Months

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Thursday September 30, 2010 at approximately 1:15 p.m. an OPP officer conducting radar patrol on Line 36 North West of Dublin observed a fast moving vehicle. The vehicle was locked in on radar at 128 km/h in a posted 70 km/h zone.

The 17 year old male driver from the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with racing a motor vehicle.
As a result of this incident he received an immediate 7-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.
(Upon conviction he could be handed down a $2,000 to $10,000 fine. He will receive 6 demerit points. He could receive up to 6 months in jail and could receive up to 2 years licence suspension for a first conviction).
