On Monday, August 1, 2016, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a 12-year-old boy had been operating a dirt bike in a field in the area of Binbrook Road and Fletcher Road in Binbrook. It appears that he lost control of the dirt bike and suffered serious injuries, rendering him unconscious. EMS attended the scene and the victim was transported to hospital in serious condition, and a short time later, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Foul play has been ruled out.
This is the City’s 8th fatality for 2016.
