On Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 Owen Sound Police Service attended a construction site on the city’s east side following a complaint that construction trailers had been broken into over night.
The complainant reported that a number of items had been stolen, and a culprit had defecated in an office within a site trailer. The trailer was not equipped with a washroom.
Equipped with security cameras, police reviewed the surveillance video and readily identified two young males, known to police. Within hours they were arrested, and the majority of the stolen property was recovered by police.
A 16-year old Owen Sound male and a 12-year old Owen Sound male are both charged with:
Break, enter and commit an indictable offence
Possession of break-in instruments
Mischief to property
The 12-year old is also charged with 2 counts of failure to comply with probation.
The 16-year old faces a single charge of failure to comply with probation.
