11 Year Old Girl Luring Incident In Listowel – BOLO White Van

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating a child luring investigation that took place yesterday in Listowel.

The OPP investigation has revealed that on Monday, December 19, 2016 around 3:30 p.m. an 11-year-old girl was walking home from school when she was approached by a stranger near the intersection of Nichol Avenue South and Main Street East. A white van pulled up alongside the girl whereupon a passenger in the van opened up the passenger side door, called out to the girl and offered her candy if she were to take a ride with him.

The young girl kept her distance, refused the offer and took off running home and immediately reported the incident to a parent. Patrols were made of the area however the suspect vehicle and suspects in the van have not been identified. The following descriptors were provided to police:

Suspect Description

Caucasian male, possibly in his 30’s

Wearing a black ski mask, large black hat, black winter coat, black snow pants, black mitts and black boots.

He has a brown beard.

Vehicle Description

A white passenger van, possibly an older model Ford Econoline or similar looking vehicle.

Several scratches and rust spots were observed on the passenger side door.

The van was equipped with large side mirrors.
