$1,000 In Damage To Community Centre

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday April 17, 2012, the Elma Community Centre operator contacted the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and reported vandalism at the facility.

Investigation revealed that between 2 a.m. Saturday April 14th and 1 p.m. Tuesday April 17, 2012, an unknown suspect(s) caused damage to a pair of metal roll up doors at the community centre pavilion. It appears that rocks and pellets were thrown or fired at the doors causing dents and scratches. It is estimated that the cost of replacement is $1000.

Sgt. Steph Pilon of the North Perth OPP stated “the senseless damage done by a number of individuals, destroying and damaging property we all enjoy as community members is disturbing. We are asking anyone who has any information about this vandalism to contact the North Perth OPP at (519) 291-1414 or you can call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000”.
