100 North Huron Staff Spend 112% Of Tax Revenue On Their Own Wages

Tonight the North Huron draft budget was presented to council, below are a few highlights. Please note that your assessment will be approximately 4.5% higher than last year.

The new tax rate for Wingham is 2.155%.

Taxes on a $169,000 home in wingham would be $3,641 a year.

Taxes on a $389,000 home in Wingham would be $8,382 a year.

Blyth’s new tax rate is 1.762%.

North Huron has approximately 100 people on the payroll for a total cost of $4,749,403.00 a year, or $91,334 a week.

North Huron raises $4,233,413 through property taxes, which is half a million less than they spend on their salaries. NH actually spends 112% of tax revenue on their own salaries.
