Around 1:00 a.m. this morning, police responded to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Sydenham Campus in regards to a belligerent man in the emergency department. The 47-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.
Around 9:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a collision on Harvey Street near Centre Street in Chatham. A vehicle struck a cyclist. The 29-year-old female cyclist sustained minor injuries, however did not seek medical attention. Total damages were estimated at $3000. A 20-year-old Chatham man has been charged with disobeying a stop sign.
Just before 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Green Line. Neither driver was injured. Total damages were estimated at $24,000 A 22-year-old Blenheim woman has been charged with careless driving.
