Stacey BLACKMORE: Hit & Run

(BROCKVILLE, ON) – An individual faces multiple charges after the driver fled the scene after they were involved in a collision on Highway 401 near Long Beach.

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, shortly after 2:30 a.m., members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to reports of a single car crash against a guardrail on Highway 401. Upon arrival, officers found an unattended car obstructing traffic.

The driver had been observed leaving the scene on foot. A short time later, officers located and arrested a suspect who was found to be in possession of approximately 90 grams of suspected fentanyl as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.

56-year-old Stacey BLACKMORE of Kingston was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Obstruct a peace officer
  • Careless driving
  • Dangerous operation
  • Fail to report accident
  • Fail to remain at the scene of an accident
  • Mischief – render property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective
  • Failure to comply with undertaking – four counts

The accused was remanded into custody after appearing at a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville.
