(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Township resident with impaired driving.
Officers conducted a traffic investigation after observing a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, approximately 165 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, just after 7:30 p.m. on County Road 43 in Drummond-North Elmsley Township.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Smiths Falls Police department for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Scott LALONDE, 48-years-old, has been charged with:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt·
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, May 11, 2026.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
