The Waterloo Regional Police Service has been notified that a sworn member has tested positive for COVID-19.
The officer, who is currently assigned to Central Division, was last at work on December 28, 2020, and is currently self-isolating and following all recommended health guidelines.
All areas where the member worked have been cleaned and sanitized.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service has been working closely with Waterloo Region Public Health to ensure proper contact tracing is undertaken. At this time, it has been determined that no high-risk contact was made with any member of the public.
