Guillaume LEVESQUE Arrested Again

(MOONBEAM, ON) – One person stopped for speeding was arrested for driving while prohibited, and breaching a probation order.

On March 6, 2024, shortly before 1:00 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) patrol on Highway 11 in Moonbeam township, and a vehicle was stopped for speeding.

Police investigated and determined that the driver’s licence was suspended under the criminal code, and the driver was currently bound by a probation order.

As a result of the investigation, Guillaume LEVESQUE, 26 years of age of Mashteuiatsh, QC was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 29, 2024, in Kapuskasing. The vehicle was impounded for 45 days at the expense of the owner.

In Ontario, impoundment periods vary depending on the violation:

  • 45 days – when the driver is driving while suspended from a Criminal Code offence.
  • 14 days – when driver is stunt driving or street racing.
  • 7 days – when the driver is driving while suspended from an Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offence, or driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) over 80 mg or fail/refuse to comply with a demand made by a police officer for a breath sample under the Criminal Code of Canada.
