On April 10, 2026, at 12:52 am, police were called to a Lambton College campus bar for a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, police located three injured parties, one with life-threatening injuries and two with non-life-threatening injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene and in the hospital, 20-year-old Dane Nisbet was later pronounced deceased.
The primary suspect in this murder investigation has been positively identified as Kyaw “Chin” DOE, who had fled the scene and was actively evading arrest since that night. A Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

*UPDATE* April 27, 2026
On Monday, April 27, 2026, Sarnia Police homicide investigators identified a residence in the City of London where DOE was believed to be in hiding. With the assistance of the London Police Service, including their Emergency Response Unit, the residence was contained, with DOE eventually surrendering to the police. He was arrested and turned over to the Sarnia Police Service at the scene.
Kyaw “Chin” DOE (24 years) of Boullee Street in London, Ontario, was arrested. He has been held for bail on charges of:
- Second Degree Murder
- Attempted Murder X 2
- Possession of a firearm while prohibited
The SPS will host a brief media scrum on Tuesday, April 28, at 1 pm. It will be held at Sarnia Police HQ (555 Christina Street North). Investigators will provide an update and take questions.
