LEVESQUE – Drunk Driving

(NORTH BAY) – A 57-year-old North Bay resident has been charged following a morning traffic stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On Saturday, April 4, 2026, at approximately 10:20 a.m., an officer from the North Bay OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Main Street West in North Bay after observing an expired licence plate validation tag.

During the interaction, the officer observed signs consistent with impairment by alcohol. Two open cans of beer were also located in the passenger-side door of the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, J. Michel LEVESQUE, 57 years of age, of North Bay, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor

·        Operating a motor vehicle without insurance

·        Driving a motor vehicle without validation on plate

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on May 19, 2026. The driver was also issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
