(CAVAN-MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with criminal charges after conducting a stop for speeding.
On Tuesday March 31, 2026, just prior to 4:00pm, an officer from the Peterborough County OPP detachment was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 115. A northbound vehicle caught the attention of the officer as it appeared to be travelling well above the posted speed limit. The officer confirmed the speed of the vehicle and as a result, initiated a traffic stop.

During their investigation, the officer was made aware of the fact that there was an outstanding warrant for the driver in a different region.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment.
