$10k in gear stolen from church

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after approximately $10,000 in sound equipment and other gear was stolen from a local church.

Sunday morning, officers were dispatched to a religious establishment in a commercial plaza near Willow Road and Dawson Road. Staff had arrived to find equipment including a sound mixing board, electronic drums, microphones, projectors, an amplifier and laptops missing.

The break-in occurred between the evening of March 6 and morning of March 10.

Construction equipment stolen from roof

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after approximately $50,000 worth of specialized equipment was stolen from the roof of a south-end business.

Monday morning, staff of a local roofing company called police after arriving at a job site on Southgate Drive and discovering the theft. Equipment stolen included a hoist, large generator and tools. Due to the size and weight of the equipment stolen it is believed thieves would need a trailer as well as knowledge how to operate the equipment.

Shoes stolen during break-in

The Guelph Police Service is looking for a thief with snazzy footwear after a break-in to a downtown home Tuesday morning.

Approximately 4 a.m. a resident near Surrey Street West and Dublin Street South called police. He had just put his garbage out and went upstairs to have a shower when he heard something downstairs.

He went to investigate and saw someone standing just inside the door holding several pairs of shoes. The complainant yelled at the person, who fled the area. They were described as approximately 5’8” and wearing a black varsity football jacket, red hoodie and dark pants. The shoes stolen included black Air Jordans with purple accents.
