(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – Members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Upper Scotch Line in Tay Valley Township, west of Perth.
On Friday, April 3, 2026, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Lanark County OPP officers responded to a collision on Upper Scotch Line between Scotch Line and Allans Mill Road.
As a result of the collision, the sole rider of the motorcycle, a 43-year-old male from Carleton Place was transported to local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist. Upper Scotch Line was closed between Scotch Line and Allans Mill Road for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were on scene, but it has since reopened.
