Donald MCLAUGHLIN – Drunk Driving

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Laurentian Valley Township resident with impaired driving after a vehicle struck a building.

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle that had collided with a building in downtown Pembroke. The driver was treated for minor injuries.  A Roadside Screening Device was utilized and further testing was conducted at the hospital.   

As a result of this incident, 59-year-old Donald MCLAUGHLIN of Laurentian Valley Township was charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug
  • Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (B.A.C.) 80 plus

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The individual was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
