Dog Hit With Shovel – One Arrested

On April 16, 2026, detectives with Investigation Services, with assistance from officers with the Division 2 Unit, charged 44-year-old Marc Massicotte with assault with a weapon, injuring an animal, and other offences.

Around 7:00 p.m. on September 23, 2025, 911 Communicators received a report of a disturbance in the 0-100 block of Pentagon Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to the scene. An investigation revealed the accused verbally threatened to harm a victim while holding a shovel. The victim and accused are familiar with one another. Through the investigation, detectives also learned the accused struck a dog with a shovel, causing minor physical injuries. The dog does not belong to the victim. A warrant was obtained for the accused’s arrest.

On April 16, 2026, officers with the Division 2 Unit located and arrested the accused. The accused is charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Disobeying Order of Court
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Injuring Animals
  • Fail to Comply with Court Order

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2026.
