(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after locating a parked vehicle in the live passing lane on Highway 17 in McNab-Braeside.
On March 18, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., while conducting patrols on Highway 17, Renfrew OPP located what looked like an abandoned vehicle parked in the passing lanes between Goshen Road and McCowan Drive facing eastbound.
Police approached the vehicle and located the driver sleeping inside.
As a result of the investigation, Kurtis Patrick Matthew BELISLE, age 33, of Ottawa, was charged with:
· Operation while impaired- alcohol
· Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 9, 2025. The individual’s driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days.
