TOYE – Drunk Driving

(HURON EAST, ON) – A London resident is facing an Impaired Operation – 80 Plus charge following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) earlier this month.

On Sunday, March 13, 2022 at approximately 3:30 a.m., Huron County OPP officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint on Morrison Line at Hensall Road when a pickup truck entered the checkpoint.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer learned the driver had been consuming some alcohol. As a result, a demand was made for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath into a roadside screening device. The driver complied and his subsequent test resulted in a fail.

The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit.

James TOYE, 28 years of age from London has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 11, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
