(HURON COUNTY, ON) – The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following the arrests of two individuals in connection with multiple incidents reported across Huron County and South Bruce.
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Huron County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of two individuals believed to be unconscious in a vehicle in Exeter. Upon police arrival, the individuals fled in the vehicle and were then involved in an armed carjacking.
Police were able to locate and arrest one individual without incident. A public advisory was issued as police searched for the second individual, believed to be involved in a subsequent carjacking.
At approximately 10:00 p.m., South Bruce OPP located the second individual who had been involved in a single-motor vehicle collision. With assistance from the OPP West Region Canine Unit, the individual was taken into custody and transported to hospital with injuries sustained during the incident.
