(GODERICH, ON) – A Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was assaulted and narrowly escaped serious injuries following an incident that took place in Goderich this week.
On Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at approximately 1:15 p.m. Huron County OPP officers responded to a mini-mall parking lot located on Victoria Street North to check on the condition of a driver that was parked in the lot.
Police arrived on scene and had an opportunity to speak with the driver in question. Upon speaking with the driver police learned the driver was failing to abide by a condition of his release. As the officer attempted to arrest the driver the accused’s partner interfered and obstructed the officer in making the arrest. The partner then reversed her vehicle in a dangerous manner into the officer. The officer was able to jump out of the way to escape serious injuries.
