(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop in Brussels on January 20th at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Turnberry Street.
Huron County OPP was conducting general patrol on Turnberry Street in Brussels in the Municipality of Huron East on the afternoon of Friday, January 20th when an OPP officer conducted a traffic stop of a motor vehicle. In speaking with the driver, the officer had reasonable grounds to believe that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving. The driver provided a breath sample into the roadside screening device which resulted in a “Fail”. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and taken into custody.
The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP detachment for further breath tests. Samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilyzer Technician and those samples were found to be over the legal limit.
Gregory McGRATH, 37 years of age from Huron East has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 3rd, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
