(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A Toronto resident has been charged with nine offences following an identity fraud attempt in Mount Forest.
On October 28th, 2025, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the Wellington County OPP, received a report from a local bank, suggesting the accused was attempting to use false documents to open a bank account.
As a result of the investigation, Sukhvinder SINGH, a 52-year-old from Toronto, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Fraud over $5,000
- Personation with intent – intent to obtain property (identity theft)
- Possession of a forged document with intent (four counts)
- Obstruct a Peace Officer
- Uttering forged passport
- Possession of an identity document
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on December 5, 2025.
