Drunk Driver Arrested After Police Follow Boot Prints In Snow

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A resident of Central Huron has been charged with Impaired Operation after police responded yesterday afternoon to a call about a motor vehicle in the ditch on Airport Line.

At approximately 2:08 p.m. on February 2, 2022 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a car that was stuck in the ditch on Airport Line near Bayfield Road. Officers responded to the area where they located an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch. Officers were able to follow some boot prints in the snow and it led them to the driver that was located nearby waiting for a tow.

While speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying noticeable signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit.
