(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid a Stunt Driving charge against a Huron East resident after he was caught speeding on Highway 8 this past weekend.
At approximately 12:49 a.m. on February 15, 2021 a Huron OPP officer observed a sedan travelling at a high rate of speed westbound on Huron Road (Highway 8) near Holmesville. A radar device was used and the vehicle’s speed was measured in excess of 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, 18-year-old Blake POPPE was charged with Stunt Driving – Speeding by 50 km/h or more. His motor vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days.
He will now have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich on April 6, 2021 to answer to the charge.
