Armed Suspect At Large Update – OPP Order Coverup

(HURON COUNTY, ON) – The Huron Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has located and arrested an individual previously considered armed, dangerous, and at-large in the Huron County area. 

On April 2, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., police received a report of two individuals that appeared to be unconscious in a vehicle, who fled after first responders arrived on scene near Main Street South and Wellington Street East in Exeter.

The fleeing suspects then approached an individual, brandished a firearm, and stole their vehicle. 

Police took one person into custody in South Huron without incident however the second suspect fled from the area.

The remaining suspect approached a second victim, stole a second vehicle in South Huron and fled. 

An advisory was issued to the public while police searched for the remaining suspect. Their photo, name, and vehicle description was released to the public and media.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., officers located the individual and placed them into custody. 

There is no threat to public safety. Officers would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation and understanding, and extend appreciation to those who contacted police with information.

OPP would like to ask that any publications containing the suspect’s photo or name be removed from circulation.
