Another Local Hero Stands Up To Abuser #ItsTime #StandYourGround

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – On January 02, 2026, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of South Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner.

A 39-year-old individual from South Huron has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Assault with a Weapon – Spousal,

–      Forcible Confinement,

–      Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition,

–      Breach of Firearms Regulation – Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon.

The accused was processed and held in custody for a bail hearing with a later court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
