(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with Prohibited Driving along with several other provincial offences following a traffic stop on November 22, 2025.
On Saturday, November 22, at 3:00 p.m., Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle during a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Stone School Line in the Municipality of Central Huron.
Officers confirmed that the male driver was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code and was subsequently placed under arrest and taken into custody.
Joshua LAYCOX, 30 years-of-age from Huron East has been charged with:
– Operation while Prohibited.
The accused was additionally charged with three provincial offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Cannabis Control Act (CCA), and Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).
The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for 45 days.
The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 13, 2026, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
