Amanda JACKSON – Theft

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with theft.

On February 23, 2025, police received a report of a theft from a commercial premises on Oliphant Street where a person had stolen an automated cleaning device. Officers began an investigation, and an individual was sought in relation to the incident.

On March 8, 2025, OPP received a report of a theft from a commercial premises on Main Street, Brighton where the individual stole almost $1,000 worth of cosmetic products. An investigation into the incident was undertaken.

On March 26, 2025, staff from one of the commercial premises recognized the person sought by investigators and contacted police to notify that the individual was close by the location. Officers arrived and took the accused into custody in relation to both occurrences.

As a result, Amanda JACKSON (age 44), from the Municipality of Brighton, has been charged with:

–      Theft under $5,000 – Shoplifting – two counts.

The individual is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
