(ESSA TOWNSHIP, ON) (ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, ON) (NEW TECUMSETH, ON) – Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged four more impaired drivers in all separate occurrences over nine days after conducting proactive patrols and responding to calls for service.
On March 14th, 2026, shortly before 7:00 p.m., police were conducting traffic enforcement on Mill Street in Angus. A vehicle was stopped and the officer detected an odour of alcohol coming from the driver. An impaired investigation began and the driver was arrested for impaired operation.
On March 20th, 2026, shortly before 4:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on Adjala-Tecumseth Townline after a vehicle struck a mailbox and continued driving. The vehicle involved in the collision was located and the driver was arrested for impaired operation.
On March 22nd, 2026, shortly after 1:00 a.m., police were dispatched to a traffic complaint on County Road 10 in Essa, reporting a north bound vehicle was all over the road and driving into oncoming traffic. The vehicle and driver were located, and the driver was arrested for impaired operation.
On March 20th, 2026, shortly before 11:00 p.m., police dispatched to a fail to remain motor vehicle collision where the driver was traveling west bound on Highway 89, had struck a median and sign before continuing to drive. The driver was located and arrested for impaired operation.
As a result of the investigation, the first driver, Catlen REE, a 32-year-old of Victoria Harbour has been charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The driver of the second investigation, Lindsay MACK, a 30-year-old of Loretto has been charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Fail to remain
As a result of the investigation, the third driver, Balkaran KAJLA, a 29-year-old of Angus has been charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
The driver of the fourth investigation, Francisco TARDIO-ALARCON, a 49-year-old of Alliston has been charged with:
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Failure or refusal to comply with demand
• Fail to remain
• Fail to report accident
• Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
• Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
All four accused parties had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days, had their vehicles impounded for 7 days and were released with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford to answer to the charges.
