OPP Investigate Another Snowmobiler Fatality

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On February 3, 2017, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with the Grey Highlands Fire Department, Grey County Paramedic Services (EMS), the Town of Blue Mountains OPP, and the Town of Blue Mountains Fire Department, responded to a report of a serious, single snowmobile collision on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail on the Town of Blue Mountains–Euphrasia Townline, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the 2013 Ski-doo 800 was travelling northbound on the trail when the operator lost control of the snow machine and, as a result, was ejected. The victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The deceased has been identified as 25-year old Dylan John ROBINSON of Nottawasaga, Ontario.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for February 4, 2017 in Owen Sound.

The OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Unit attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation which is ongoing.
