28 Year Old From Central Huron Arrested In Clinton – Name Released

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 28-year-old male from Central Huron is facing a number of charges following a traffic stop that took place in Clinton late last week.

Just after 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 a Cadillac sedan entered into a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint that was set up on Bayfield Road near Devon Street. While speaking with the male driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol coming from the driver. As a result the driver provided a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device.

Upon registering a Fail” at the side of the road he was placed under arrest and transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his samples registered over the legal limit.

Upon further investigation police learned the Cadillac was not insured.
