(ST MARYS, ON) – On Monday March 6, 2017 Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of the theft of a car from a business on Queen Street West in the Town of St Marys.
Investigation revealed that the owner had been selling a motor vehicle and the suspect had taken the car for a test drive and failed to return with it. On Friday March 10, 2017 members of the Perth County OPP property crime unit arrested a suspect in connection with this motor vehicle theft.
34 year-old Adam RAE has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and two counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code. He was also charged with possession of a schedule I substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. He was released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Monday April 10, 2017.
The car involved, a brown Ford Taurus bearing Ontario number plate 425-DNR is still outstanding.
