Barrie Police have charged a driver following an investigation into a head-on collision that happened on Fairview Road in July.
On July 13, 2026, officers attended the scene of a serious collision involving a pickup truck and a sedan. Through the investigation, the Barrie Police Service Traffic Reconstruction Unit determined the sedan travelled over the centre line into the direct path of oncoming traffic.

Fairview Road, just north of Harvie Road, was closed for more than six hours for the investigation and cleanup.
